Updated 2026 · Dubai Health Authority rules
Three attempts, not four
The DHA Manual for Licensing Healthcare Professionals states that all applicants shall be given three attempts to successfully pass the assessment modality. If you have read four attempts somewhere, that advice is almost certainly about Saudi Arabia's SNLE, which is a different regulator with a different rule. Do not plan a Dubai application around it.
Your result is pass or fail and is communicated on the day of the exam, so you know immediately where you stand.
Before you rebook
Do this in the first week after a fail
- Write down every question you remember hesitating on while it is fresh — patterns show up fast
- Sit a full timed mock cold to get an honest baseline rather than a hopeful one
- Rank your domains by accuracy and give the bottom three the majority of your study time
- Fix pacing separately from knowledge: running out of time and not knowing the content need different remedies
- Only then pick a date, and leave enough runway to clear the weak domains twice
If the attempts run out
Because attempts are limited and each sitting is chargeable, treat the second attempt as your real one. If you have exhausted attempts, contact DHA through the Sheryan portal for the current position on your file rather than relying on second-hand advice — the handling depends on your category and application history.
