DOH Self Study Plan
A six-week DOH self study plan you can run around night shifts
Most nurses fail the DOH paper because revision is unstructured, not because the science is hard. This roadmap fixes the order: diagnose first, close systems one at a time, then rehearse under exam conditions.
- 1
Week 1
Diagnostic & fundamentals
Cold mock, nursing process, assessment skills, documentation and SBAR.
Checkpoint: A weakness map and a realistic exam date.
- 2
Weeks 2–3
Medical-surgical depth
System-by-system revision with sepsis, peri-operative and emergency scenarios woven in.
Checkpoint: 80% on each system question set.
- 3
Week 4
Maternal, paediatric, mental health
Case-led revision plus community and health-promotion content DOH favours.
Checkpoint: Two mixed timed sets.
- 4
Week 5
Pharmacology & safety standards
High-alert drugs, calculations, plus DOH quality, reporting and patient-rights standards.
Checkpoint: Perfect score on the safety standards set.
- 5
Week 6
Rehearsal & paperwork
Three full timed mocks and a Dataflow/licensing document check.
Checkpoint: Consistent 75%+ and a booked slot.
How to use the plan each day
45 minutes of notes
Read one subtopic from the notes library and write five recall lines from memory before you close the file.
30 questions
Answer a mixed set on that subtopic and read every rationale, including the ones you got right.
10 minutes of error log
Write why each miss happened — knowledge gap, misread stem or rushed timing. Patterns show up within a week.

Every plan is a single payment with lifetime access. Switch exam track at any time — the licence rules change, the nursing science does not.
